A warm welcome to the Young Leaders section of the World Alliance of YMCA's web site.

Some of you may be asking why a youth organisation needs a special section on youth. Good question. We are aiming for the youth perspective to be an integral part of every programme, every issue, every decision made by the YMCA and for our Movement to be led by younger leaders. But we are not there yet.

The aim of this section is therefore:

· To share information about issues, challenges and policies in order to equip those of us wanting to get more involved in YMCA leadership

· To give opportunities for younger leaders around the world to connect with each other and share ideas

· To encourage younger leaders as we put the Mission of the YMCA into practice

So what is the YMCA's Mission? Our Mission is to work with God to reflect His coming Kingdom -an incredible new world of justice, love and peace - within our societies, within our world. This has been the mission of the YMCA since 1855 with a special focus on young people, regardless of their social, cultural or religious background.
