Bringing the great outdoors into peoples’ homes

Date: 17 April 2020

How can you keep people excited about the beauty of nature when they’re confined to their houses?

With their two family vacation and conference centres closed, YMCA of the Rockies is managing to bring the beauty of Colorado’s Rocky Mountains into peoples’ homes through online activities including virtual sled rides, cowboy music singalongs and wildflower spotting guides.

“We are known for our robust schedule of activities and programmes. Moving things online didn’t cost a lot of money, was easy to put together, and people can do it in a safe environment in their homes,” says Kayler Toulouse of YMCA of the Rockies.

The Y is offering a rich programme of activities including physical workouts, prayer sessions, yoga and kids’ art classes, and will be posting a lot more content in the next few weeks.
