The United Nations is holding the first-ever Youth Climate Summit, opening with a dialogue between Secretary-General Antonio Guterres and 16-year-old Swedish climate activist Greta Thunberg. On Saturday 21 September, we will join the call to speak up for our planet! Let’s mobilise young people from YMCAs around the world to gather at their local YMCA to watch the Youth Climate Summit, engage in a meaningful dialogue, and to commit to take climate action NOW!
The purpose of this global event is to create a pathway for young people around the world to participate virtually in the first-ever Youth Climate Summit and most importantly to be inspired to “Do”something for climate action in their own communities. This historic event will allow young people to raise their voices for climate action through the global YMCA Movement, reaching 58 million in 120 countries, and beyond to global leaders and policy makers.
