On Saturday 14 August 2021, a powerful 7.2-magnitude earthquake shook Haiti, killing more than 1400 people. Two days later, hurricane Grace hit the country.
YMCA Haiti has sent food and 1000 USD to the cities of Les Cayes and Camp-Perrin. While it continues to assess the needs of the affected communities, we launch an appeal to support them in supporting the local communities they serve.
Donations will allow YMCA Haiti to carry on their activities for children and young people, and upscale them for those worst affected by the disaster.
YMCA Haiti has launched a three-step response
The aim is
- to provide assistance and support in the short term to the affected population in Camp-Perrin
- to rebuild the YMCA Community Center in Camp-Perrin
- to provide psychological support to those in need.
