The Sierra Leone YMCA was founded by Dr. I.C. Pratt in 1912. Since 2002, the Young Men’s Christian Association Sierra Leone has been actively involved in promoting peace building and education in the country. With support from Horyzon – Switzerland, the Relief and Rehabilitation Department has conducted workshops and training programs for trainers and peace motivators. Additionally, they are implementing skills training programs for ex-combatants and youth in the Eastern Region, offering courses in carpentry, tailoring, bricklaying, and agriculture.
