The Global Youth Mobilization welcomes the publication of “Our Common Agenda”

Date: 13 September 2021

On 10 September 2021, the Secretary General of the United-Nations (UN) António Guterres released a report – “Our Common Agenda” – which looks ahead to the next 25 years and presents his vision on the future of global cooperation and reinvigorating inclusive, networked, and effective multilateralism.

Mr Guterres presented the report to the General Assembly just before the end of the 75th session of the General Assembly.

Through the Global Youth Mobilization (GYM), the World YMCA and its partners welcome the key recommendations highlighted for young people.

Young people today, along with future generations, will have to live with the consequences of our action and inaction. Today’s generation of young people is distinct from future generations. However, it is time to find ways to give more weight to their collective interests and to make our systems work to safeguard their futures. (Source: Our Common Agenda report)

The GYM calls on the UN, governments, businesses and civil society to recognise the need to come together and to protect the rights and interests of future generations by delivering on the recommendations set out in the report.
