Job openings World YMCA

Date: 06 November 2018

Dear Leaders and Friends,

Greetings from the World Alliance of YMCAs!

Many of you are aware that since August this year, I have been working part time for the World YMCA.  This is to enable my transitioning to take up leadership of the World YMCA  in January 2019.  My main focus during this transition period is to develop an operational plan to implement our current strategic plan.

I have consulted with many of you as well as other  different partners.   Two weeks ago, we held a stakeholders consultation with about 80 leaders from around the world including our newly elected Executive Committee members.

Following this and various other consultations and in line with our focus to become the ‘go to’  place for youth empowerment globally,  I submitted to the Executive Committee the emerging operational framework.   The framework aims to enhance our internal and external collaborations, movement strengthening and developing a robust economic model for the World YMCA.  I have also been able to reflect on the staffing requirements needed to implement the Operational plan.  In consultation with the Executive Committee, it has been agreed that we shall be filling the staffing positions gradually,  driven by our readiness and need.

I am glad to share the three first positions to be filled:

  1. Director of Collaborations and Partnerships
  2. Director of Communications
  3. Operations Manager

All these are Geneva based positions.  We are inviting you to circulate and share widely with all relevant persons. The World Alliance will also make a wide circulation of the same to increase our chances of filling the positions with the most competent and experienced professionals.

Thank you for your support.

Carlos Sanvee
Secretary General Designate
World YMCA
