We are very proud to share with our friends that Dr Pamela Davies, Member of the Executive Committee of the World Alliance of YMCAs and President of  Queens University of Charlotte, and a great friend, will receive the John R. Mott Award of the YMCA of Greater Charlotte.

In 1996, the YMCA of Greater Charlotte established the John R. Mott Award to recognize a person who exemplifies the ideals of John R. Mott through volunteer service to the YMCA. On September 30, YMCA of Greater Charlotte President Andy Calhoun, Board Chairman Barnes Hauptfuhrer and several past Mott Award recipients surprised Dr. Pamela Davies in her office at Queens University of Charlotte by naming her as the 2014 John R. Mott Award recipient. Davies is the first female recipient of the highest volunteer honor from the YMCA of Greater Charlotte and will be recognized in an official ceremony on March 17, 2014.
