Programme Secretary for Refugee Assistance at the World YMCA

Elisabeth (Lisa) Kalivatsi,  from Greece is appointed as the new Programme Secretary for Refugee Assistance at the World YMCA.

From October 17, 2016 Lisa Kalivatsi, an experienced YMCA leader, will join the World YMCA team to support the delivery of OUR WAY strategy focussing on strengthening our global assistance to refugees and all categories of displaced persons in the contexts of youth empowerment and movement strengthening.

Lisa lastly worked for YMCA Thessaloniki and has been providing leadership on programme development, including enthusiastic engagement in work with refugees placed in camps and local communities in Greece.

With previous international YMCA experiences – assisting development of movements in Albania, Bulgaria, Former Yugoslavian Republic of Macedonia, Romania as well as organizing international camping and training programmes – Lisa brings to the World YMCA team a very valuable set of competences and attitudes.

Lisa speaks Greek, English, French and Russian, and we are glad to get to know that she has started to learn Arabic.

Lisa will be working from Thessaloniki and she will be establishing the World YMCA Refugee Field Office there.
