Resilient YMCAs: Leaders Talks – Session One

Date: 09 April 2020

As part of our response to the CoVid-19 crisis, World YMCA is launching a new initiative Resilient YMCAs: Leaders Talks to bring together experts in crisis management and recovery along with practical tools and concrete action steps to help YMCAs build resiliency. We are currently planning to hold four talks and may extend as needed. We will record the event and make the replay available for YMCA internal audiences.

Resilient YMCAs: Leaders Talks – CoVid-19 Response and Recovery  – Online Event  Thursday 9 April 2020, 15:00 CET

The first event in the series will be an online talk from YMCA leaders for YMCA leaders. YMCA Leaders from each region to share how the CoVid-19 crisis has impacted their YMCAs staff and community.

We will ask each speaker to share what, if any, government relief might be available and how they are advocating for such support. We will ask each speaker to share how their YMCAs are stepping up at the local, national and regional level to help provide services and support in their communities, and how they are mitigating risk as they mobilise in the response.

Finally, we will ask each speaker to share how they are thinking about recovery. In a post-CoVid-19 world, how will your YMCAs evolve? How will your community, staff, and volunteers be changed? What opportunities does this crisis bring and how can we come together to strengthen the YMCA Movement? We will invite participants to join the Q&A session.
