This World Mental Health Day join YMCA and #SpeakYourMind

Date: 04 October 2019

More than 75% of people living with mental health difficulties in low and middle-income countries do not receive any appropriate treatment or care. To address this lack of action, World YMCA has joined a new global campaign called Speak Your Mind. The campaign focuses on mental health needs, and pledges for open discussions and clear objectives to tackle mental health illnesses, at a social, governmental and international level.

In recognition of World Mental Health Day on Thursday 10 October Speak Your Mind is opening a powerful mental health exhibition in London. The exhibition, sponsored by HSBC, explores the dreams lost to suicide, and the hope that’s found through support when you #SpeakYourMind. For more information on the exhibition visit their website or follow them on Facebook.

Every 40 seconds some dies from suicide and World YMCA is inviting young people and mental health advocates to call on our world leaders to do more. To get involved visit gospeakyourmind.org and record your 40-second voice petition calling for better mental health support around the world. You can also upload your video to social media using the #SpeakYourMind and #YMCA4Health.

Join World YMCA in support of this important campaign today.
