The YMCA Ignite Show is a live broadcast platform for YMCA colleagues and young leaders worldwide to share stories and celebrate progress, as the global YMCA Movement implements its first ever shared strategy: Vision 2030.
The third episode of the Ignite Show aired on Wednesday, 6 September 2023. It followed the second episode on 9 May 2023, and the first on 17 January 2023: shows whch have been seen well over 1500 times each across different social media platforms. Viewers tune in from every continent, and they also play back the show and its component parts after the event.
The high-energy, 45-minute live show features documentary-style films, interviews and panel discussions examining how YMCAs are addressing the four Vision 2030 Pillars of Impact – Community Wellbeing, Meaningful Work, Sustainable Planet, Just World. It’s led by the team behind the successful online programme at the 20th World Council in Aarhus, Denmark in July 2022, including Maria Fernanda (Mafe) Giraldo from YMCA Latin America & Caribbean, and Kevin Kapeke from YMCA Victoria (Australia). Mike Bromfield, Managing Director of Bromfield Events, the virtual programme manager of the first-ever hybrid World Council, produces the Show.
Ultimately, The Ignite Show is about “bringing Vision 2030 to life”, said World YMCA Secretary General Carlos Sanvee. “We hope you will be moved, informed and most of all – inspired.”
