In November, World YMCA President Patricia Pelton attended two important international events to highlight the work and impact of YMCA.
On 14-15 November she participated to Advocate! 2019, Canada’s Modern Advocacy Conference. This event brings together leaders from across North America who share their best advocacy practice. President Pelton joined the “Non-profit advocacy successes” panel and shared how YMCA programmes shape communities at a local, national and international level.
The following week, President Pelton travelled to Iceland for the Reykjavík Global Forum from 18-20 November. This conference allows female leaders to discuss and share ideas and solutions on how to further advance society. Through the event, President Pelton had the opportunity to exchange with and learn from more than 400 leaders from all over the world.
