YMCA releases six ‘Youth-Led Solutions’ climate action films

In January and February 2022, six films featuring YMCA youth-led solutions on climate action are being released every Thursday at 4pm CET (Geneva) on World YMCA’s YouTube Channel. The films made up the November 2021 documentary ‘Creating Youth-Led Solutions’.

Initially premiered for audiences at the COP 26 climate conference held in Glasgow, Scotland, in November 2021, the stories demonstrate the ideas, initiatives and young leaders who created solutions to address the climate crisis in their communities. All six projects received initial seed funding from YMCA’s Youth-Led Solutions Initiative, following its inaugural Youth Led Solutions Summit on climate action in October 2019.

Commissioned by YMCA Scotland, and funded by YMCA of the USA, the series showcases the impact that is being made on every continent. In total, 35 projects received seed funding, working with and impacting more than 38,000 people to date. A further $160,000 was announced to fund solutions on climate action at COP 26, with application now open for the submission of project ideas – whether continuing existing initiatives or launching new ones.
