YMCA Vision 2030 consultation enters second and final phase

Date: 03 February 2022

Phase 2 of the YMCA Vision 2030 Movement-wide consultation process is now launched, running from 1 February to 7 March 2022.

The second draft of the document – incorporating all the feedback received during Phase 1 of the consultation (June to October 2021) – has been circulated to YMCA National Movements, who must submit any further comments by 7 March, using this consultation form.

“We are now looking only for small changes or any major issue that absolutely needs to be addressed”, says World YMCA Head of Policy and Strategy, Razvan Sassu.

“For the past 3 years, our Movement has been on an ambitious journey of finding its North Star”, comments World YMCA Secretary General Carlos Sanvee.

“That journey took a big step forward with an amazing formal consultation that took place between July and October 2021, in which we heard from over two-thirds of the Movement. For your outstanding engagement on shaping YMCA Vision 2030 together, we want to thank you and express our gratitude. Today, Vision 2030 is more relevant and stronger because of you.

“So now we want you to make your contribution to this final consultative process, as we nail down the finer details of the document that will shape our collective strategic journey for years to come.”

After the Phase 2 consultation ends on 7 March 2022, a further-consolidated Vision 2030 will be presented to the World YMCA Executive Committee on 26 March. It is hoped that it will be approved then, and it will then be presented to YMCA World Council for adoption on Monday 4 July 2022.

“That’s when we hope we will all celebrate together the adoption of this historical document for our Movement”, said Mr Sanvee.
