Alternative Tourism is a social enterprise that supports the YMCAs Youth Empowerment mission. Each tour is designed based on the principles of Alternative Tourism assuring an authentic community-based tourism experience for all.
These tours are not limited to just YMCA people and all are welcome to join.

Cambodia – 20-27 May
Discover the colour, chaos and culinary delights of Cambodia with the local YMCA as your hosts and guides. Visit UNESCO World Heritage listed ancient ruins as well as local YMCA projects. See Cambodia come to life from Phnom Penh to Angkor Wat, through ruins of ancient civilisations, between quilted rice paddies and into traditional rural villages.
Siberia aboard the Trans-Siberian Railway -31 July -10 August
A unique experience travelling from Russia to Vladivostok aboard the historic Trans-Siberian Railway. Includes day visits in Moscow and Vladivostok. Over 9,000km through 19 Russian regions, 5 climate zones, 8 time zones ending at the Japanese Sea. Fabulous landscapes, speakers and cultural insights.
Nepal – 20-27 November
Nepal maybe small but it is big in its culture, natural beauties, people and places. Known as the “roof of the world” here we find people of various culture, religions and traditions.
