On Monday, 55 World YMCA Change Agent mentors and mentees met for a virtual onboarding session. As part of the Change Agents leadership programme, participants have the option to work with a mentor.
Said Carlos Sanvee, World YMCA Secretary General: “Mentorship is a two-way relationship, with reverse mentorship also playing a crucial role for the mentors’ leadership and coaching abilities. Thank you all for being a part of this wonderful initiative. Your dedication to personal growth and commitment to mentorship will undoubtedly make a positive impact in your lives and the lives of others”.
The mentors came forward to volunteer their time, wisdom, and support, willing to guide and empower the young leaders. And the mentees are taking a bold step towards their leadership and professional growth.
The onboarding session was just the beginning of a journey filled with learning, networking, and transformation. Coming up in the World YMCA Change Agents Mentor-Mentee Programme:
- Tailored mentorship matches: Each mentee is paired with a fitting mentor, someone who aligns with their aspirations and goals.
- Check-ins: Regular check-ins will be organized to provide a supportive environment for both mentors and mentees and maintain momentum.
- Networking tools: Connecting with like-minded individuals is vital for professional growth. We will host networking events to broaden the mentor-mentee circle and open new doors.
- End-of-programme celebration: To wrap up this journey, we’ll host a celebratory event where mentors and mentees can share their success stories, achievements, and the impact of mentorship in the YMCA Change Agents Programme.
