The 87th meeting of the World YMCA Executive Committee was held online on 6-7 April 2024.
Among the topics discussed were:
- the 2023 audited accounts, which are shown towards the end of the World YMCA 2023 Annual Report
- the performance of World YMCA investments over the year 2023
- the performance of World YMCA fundraising in the year 2023
- the evolution and application of new governance standards for members of the World YMCA, and privacy and supplier security policies
- ideas presented by a Task Group on further promoting the close alignment between YMCA Vision 2030 and the UN Sustainable Development Goals, with the purpose of raising additional human and financial resources for YMCAs through diversified fund-raising strategies including Official Development Assistance Funds.
The meeting was the first attended by the new President of the Asia Pacific Alliance of YMCAs, Rev. Philip Thomas, and Devotions were led by World YMCA Secretary-General Carlos Sanvee and Executive Committee member Nalisoa Andrianarivo, of YMCA Madagascar.
The next online meeting will be held on 6 July, and the next in-person meeting will be on 20-21 October 2024, on the eve of the Accelerator Summit in Mombasa, Kenya.
