YMCA Setúbal and the Institute for Conservation of Nature and Forestry

Date: 01 December 2016

The partnership between the YMCA Setúbal and the Institute for Conservation of Nature and Forestry now starts to have national projection, having drew the attention of RTP1 and TVI (Portuguese television stations) with very complete reports which have demonstrated the work done with the Azeitão School.

The reporting teams of RTP1 and TVI were in the Environmental Park of Alambre to attend a class still uncommon in Portugal. These classes have extraordinary results regarding students participation and
achievement of knowledges. The area of study is – Science of Nature.   This work is done between the YMCA Setúbal through the Biologist Andreia Gravata, the Teachers of the Association of Schools of Azeitão and the Institute for Conservation of Nature and Forestry.

The YMCA Setúbal plans to extend these classes to other Municipal Groups, considering still a project to increase the number of disciplines that can take advantage of this dynamic.

YMCA Camp Alambre will apply as a reference place for the Education of Environmental Education to the Ministry of Education, thereby giving another step as an Association that promotes the skills of young people.
