You’ll hear the stories on the second Ignite Show, which highlights how YMCAs worldwide are implementing YMCA Vision 2030. Catch it live on 9 May 2023 at 14:00 CEST.
The first show (17 January 2023) shared how YMCAs worldwide are working on issues of Community Wellbeing, Meaningful Work, Sustainable Planet and Just World. The second show takes a closer look at programmes happening at the local level.
And it features a snapshot of where YMCAs worldwide are in the implementation process. In the first quarter of 2023, we surveyed all 120 National Movements. The findings among the 75 that responded include:
- 28 said they had already worked out how to bring it into their own planning and operations.
- 32 said they were in the process of doing so …
- 15 said they planned to do so.
There were other interesting findings, including Pillars. Community Wellbeing topped the list in terms of involvement, with Sustainable Planet last. Still, 60 per cent of the YMCAs are addressing the latter in some capacity. Among the 12 goals, YMCAs chose 2.2 – helping young people better prepare for work – as the most important.
While Vision 2030 is rolling out at the national level, the majority of the YMCAs said that it had not yet reached the local level. That would grow, however, particularly with the availability of resources such as funding and case studies.
